The week after Christmas we decided that it was a good time to refinish the kitchen cabinets since we both had the week off. We started by taking out the base cabinets so we could replace the floor underneath. We then scrubbed everything down with a degreaser because the previous owners must have blown up everything they ever cooked. We scrubbed the underside of the cabinets, the outside, the inside, the doors, and painted the bottom with kilz. After everything dried we scrubbed everything with a deglosser to take off the shiny finish. the next day we came back and laid everything out so we could paint the doors with the paint sprayer. We also laid down the new subfloor so we could be ready to put the cabinets back when they were done.
