So, Tom and I weren't REALLY looking for a house. Just checking out houses that were a good deal, so we knew what was out there and what it would cost when we were ready to buy. Well I went into this house hoping to hate it, and then I didn't. Not even a little bit. In fact it met almost every criteria we had set for our "forever house" to have. Problem was it was a disaster. A REAL disaster but the bones were good and the layout was what we wanted. And the location and property was excellent. So with out actually intending to buy, we bought a house. Funny how you find what you are looking for when you aren't really looking. Now comes the hard part the Renovation to take it from disaster to glorious! We pulled out the carpet (still wet with animal Urine) the day we closed. Immediate improvement on the smell in the house. However, parts of the finish floor beneath were wet/spongy so we decided we would replace that too. Man is that a lot of hard work. So thats where we are currently, pulling up finish floor and cleaning up as we go, we have been washing walls, pulling off trim, taking up laminate flooring and the vinyl underneath. If I am not super skinny by the time this project is over it won't ever happen for me.
Oh Yeah, and the house has a stairway to nowhere, but more on that later.
